Catwalk Catchup: PFW Balmain Spring/Summer 2012

Balmain got a whole lot girlier this season and we are loving it! Balmain got a bit grungy these past few seasons and although we liked the edginess, we're glad its back to doing what we think it does best. Heavy detailing, sharp structuring and fine embellishment aplenty, this is the Balmain we know and love. And with the new diffusion line coming out, we think it's about time the line went back to its roots.

Paris Fashion Week got off to a mediocre start, hence the lack of posting (we only comment on what we utterly adore) but the Balmain show alone more than makes up for it. Just like the white and gold goddess inspired outfits, this collection was heaven sent and we genuinely can't flaw a single piece. Plus, some of our favourite models were strutting their stuff on the runway, including Abbey Lee Kershaw (naturally), Freja Beha Erichsen, Anja Rubik, Natasha Poly and Arizona Muse.

We think this might be the new Dolce and Gabbana star obsession for all the magazines…and we bet the celebs are already forming a disorderly queue to be the first ones to be draped in the outfits.

WATCH Eva Mendes Star in Thierry Mugler's Angel Ad

We've seen the early pictures, now it's time for the actual video advertising campaign. What do you think? And if you are enjoying the dulcet, melodic tones in the background, they do in fact belong to Eva Mendez herself. See, not just a pretty face!

Heidi Klum Launches Her Shine Fragrance in Hollywood

That's quite a big bottle there Heidi, you sure you can carry it?! Although we probably won't be buying such a large version, we are more than tempted to try it as we know Heidi Klum won't put her name to something unless it's pure perfection. We love it when advertising goes back to basics and is very literal, so we assume that the mandarins and pears scattered around mean they are incorporated in the smell? If that's the case, we are even more willing to try it!

We Will Learn Dior Successor In Next Few Weeks

If we're honest, we're getting a little bit bored now. This has been dragging on for what feels like centuries so we just want to get it over with and read an official statement from some men in suits so we can all get on with our lives. This isn't to say we aren't on the edge of our metaphorical seats though; whilst we don't actually have a preference, we would be a bit surprised if John Galliano's successor isn't Marc Jacobs. Lord knows there's been enough press surrounding his alleged appointment and talks with the company.

This could well be like the whole Kate Middleton Sarah Burton wedding dress saga, whereby they all deny it until they're blue in the face while they wait or the 'right time' to do the big reveal. We think there's been enough tension and drumroll moments…come on Dior, we're ready when you are!

Miranda Kerr Covers Harper's Bazaar Australia November

Looks like Alexa Chung isn't the only celeb to fly the flag for Britain with her outfit choices. Flawless beauty Miranda Kerr, i.e. Mrs Orlando Bloom, poses up a storm on the front cover of Australia's Harper's Bazaar November issue, wearing a cute outfit by designer of the moment, Mary Katrantzou. This collection screams Stella McCartney fruit obsession, but in a totally new and refreshing way; Miranda totally does the outfit justice and we can't wait to see the editorial!

Catwalk Catchup: PFW Mugler Spring/Summer 2012

After all the hype from Nicola Formichetti surrounding Lady Gaga's involvement in the show, we were expecting fireworks and as far as Gaga history goes, the unexpected. But we were actually expecting her to show up on the catwalk…which she didn't. We were surprised with her absence, but there was, as promised, a short film featuring the superstar. Gaga said: "I am a Mugler woman; don't f*** with me. Don't f*** with Mugler. Welcome to Paris; we are Paris." Check it out, above!

Gagaloo aside, the collection was interesting. We think it was a bit safe…maybe not for most clothing lines, but for Mugler under Formichetti's direction, it was a lot tamer than we expected. Still, there were provocative pieces with cut-out features in abundance and lots of body parts were exposed, so it wasn't completely alien to what Mugler is used to.

Wills and Kate Open Cancer Ward At The Royal Marsden

Even though they've been galavanting across America and Canada, believe it or not this is the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's first 'official' duty. You wouldn't think it though, they appeared to handle it so effortlessly; from what we read, they were naturals with the children at the Royal Marsden Hospital and it looks like everyone was thrilled to have them there.

Kate Middleton didn't wear her newest Topshop purchases mind, instead choosing a £450 Amanda Wakeley felt dress for the occasion. She looked the vision of loveliness, almost angelic actually, with her hair immaculately shiny and bouncy as is expected.

Daily Style Crush: Rihanna in Jeremy Scott

Whilst we wouldn't condone wearing this outfit down Oxford Street (ripped stockings and all) we think Rihanna looks amazing in it! We did wonder who would wear the ensemble when we saw it make its very recent debut on the Spring/Summer 2012 runway and now our question has been answered. Very few celebs would be able to pull it off - we imagine Katy Perry would also look smashing in it; maybe they should custom-make her a latex one to mix it up a little? In case you're wondering, Rihanna wasn't just casually walking around the street looking like this, she was in fact on the set of her music video for new single We Found Love. Can't wait to see it!

WATCH Ashley Tisdale's Hilarious Toddlers and Tiaras Parody

Toddles and Tiaras doesn't really surprise us anymore; ever since we saw a three year old recreate the infamous 'prostitute Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman' look we've thrown all expectation out the window. We've seen, heard and read many complaints and a few parodies of the controversial show, but this is by far our favourite. Take a look at a parody video of little beauty queen Makenzie and her mother Juana on a 'where are they now' style episode featuring Ashley Tisdale and Leah Remini (of King of Queens fame).

We've been needing an Ashley Tisdale fix since they cancelled Hellcats after only one series (yes, still bitter about it!) and this fills the void quite nicely for the time being. Ashley never fails to make us laugh - more please!

Terry Richardson Snaps Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux

There's couple of things we can't quite believe. 1. That Jen-An is 42 (!!!) and 2. how different/substantially more gorgeous one man can look sans facial hair. We have to say we always thought cute little Justin Theroux was punching a tad above his weight as we didn't really see the (physical) attraction to him, but now we can totally see it.

Either Terry Richardson is an even better photographer than we thought, or life with Jennifer Aniston brings out the sexiness in people. They look super-cute and super in love in these photos! and we couldn't be happier for them!

Freja Beha Erichsen For Valentino's Valentina Fragrance

If it ain't broke, why fix it? That's what we assume Valentino's approach is when it comes to Freja Beja Erichsen and the ads for the Valentina fragrance. The gorgeous Danish beauty has been the face of the perfume for some time now, but why replace her when she is doing such a fine job of it?

Daddy and Daughter Tyler in Andrew Charles Campaign

We love a bit of Steven Tyler; the whole Tyler family actually. Steven's offspring have some ruddy good genes and the proof is virtually everywhere. Of course we all know the gorgeous Liv Tyler and the lesser known but equally beautiful model Mia Tyler, but now there's a baby Tyler to keep track of.

22-year-old Chelsea Tyler and her Aerosmith frontman and American Idol judge father are posing up a storm for the Andrew Charles advertising campaigns; the clothes will be sold exclusively at Macy's but we're glad the pictures can be seen worldwide. Looking at these images, you wont't find it hard to believe that Chelsea has just been signed by IMG models, so expect to see a lot more of her in the future. Hurrah!

First Look at Balmain's Sister Line

Remember aaaages ago we rather excitedly blogged about Balmain designing a brand new, more affordable diffusion line, which would make its debut during the Spring/Summer 2012 season? Well now we can finally give you a sneaky peek at what Pierre Balmain has been cooking up these past few months. It also doesn't hurt to have a hot blonde model and her rock and roll band help you introduce your sister line to the world, so that's exactly what happened.

You can catch exclusive first looks at the collection in the video shot by Inez and Vinoodh. It features Abbey Lee and her band Our Mountain frolicking around to the tune of their song Devil's Banquet, kitted out in some of the signature looks from the collection. You can catch the collection in its entirety on Sunday during Paris Fashion Week…our appetite has been well and truly whet and we can't wait to see more!

Kim Kardashian Covers Harper's Bazaar Arabia

Flawlessness personified, wouldn't you agree? According to Kim Kardashian herself (or her blog, at least) this is her first ever magazine cover in the Middle East and this is definitely a great way to make her debut. There are lots of behind the scenes pictures on Kim's Celebuzz site showing her covered head to toe in awe-inspiring Dolce and Gabbana…cannot wait to see the end results! There's THAT yellow star print dress to look forward to; the Dolce and Gabbana star collection from their Autumn/Winter catwalk was one of our favourites of that season and we're glad to see it dominate yet another magazine editorial.

Melanie Laurent for Christian Dior Hypnotic Poison

The Poison perfumes from Dior are some of my personal favourite scents, Hypnotic and Pure in particular. This ad campaign featuring the gorgeous Melanie Laurent makes me love everything about that round, red bottle just that little bit more. Hypnotised? We know we aren't the only ones.

Daily Style Crush: Alexa Chung in Mary Katrantzou

I'm not Alexa Chung's biggest fan (nothing personal), but I can't deny that the girl has style - lots of it, actually. This was made very apparent when she attended the launch of Vogue Eyewear's second annual capsule collection in NYC in a cute oriental dress. The 'Lily Pond' dress in question is by British designer Mary Katrantzou, so we're doubly pleased Miss Chung stepped out in it - British pride and all that jazz. Not everyone could pull it off but we think she did it effortlessly, so kudos to her! Nice touch on the bag too, you can never really go wrong with a touch of quilted Chanel!

Sophie Ellis Bextor & Danielle Lineker Are Tickled Pink

A host of British celebs, including Sophie Ellis Bextor and Danielle Lineker, have lent their pretty faces to the Ticked Pink advertising campaign to raise money for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The Tickled Pink tees will be sold in Asda throughout October, as well as some other key pieces featured in the ad campaigns, including that cute pink dress modelled by the gorgeous Ms Lineker. We really love the styling in these pictures and hope the pieces raise a lot of money for an excellent cause.

Check Out The Dress Made From 3,000 Cow Nipples

Lady Gaga's meat dress, eat your heart out, there's a new 'most controversial dress around. Check out the dress made from 3,000 cow nipples…it was made by British designer Rachel Freire and made its runway debut at London Fashion Week. The dress, along with the rest of the 'Nippleocalypse' Spring/Summer 2012 collection, is now on its merry way to France to strut down the Paris Fashion Week catwalk…what do you reckon the Parisians will make of it?

Alice Temperley's Girl Crush On P-Middy

Seems like the boys aren't Pippa Middleton's only fans, oh no. Alice Temperley has revealed that it would be a dream come true for her to design Pippa's wedding dress, branding her beautiful with a perfect bum. True story. We do believe her exact words were: "I'd love to dress Pippa for her wedding when it happens. She's so beautiful - she's perfect and her bum is perfect - it would be such an honour." She even invited the younger Middleton sister to sit on the front row of her latest catwalk show, as you can see in the picture above.

We know the designer already has a good relationship with the Middleton family, as she designed the gorgeous green bridesmaid dress Pippa wore to the reception of the most famous wedding of the decade. This is all very well and good, but don't you think Pips should find the groom first? We're quite confident the list of wannabe suitors is virtually endless!

Kate Moss Covers Elle France September In Denim Shorts

We think it's been a while since Kate Moss just stood and posed for a magazine cover in something so simple. We really love this picture of Mossy on the September cover of Elle France; its so minimalistic and youthful. No fluffs, gimmicks or ridiculously overpriced high fashion pieces…just a simple pair of denim shorts. Nothing quite proves the extent of a model's presence in a shot than limited wardrobe and styling. Nice work, Sonia Sieff.

Did L'Oreal Lighten Freida Pinto's Skin?

Another controversy today, again concerning that pesky Photoshop. It seems to do a lot more harm than it does good these days, does anyone else agree? Freida Pinto is arguably one of the most beautiful, natural young actresses around these days, so why her face requires anything more than a quick once over with the airbrush is beyond us.

Although it's obvious that her skin is a lot lighter than we know it to be from films and red carpet appearances, it is possible that it could be a genuine trick of the light and the post-prod editing just involved the usual round of over-airbrushing. Who knows; we don't think L'Oreal will admit to actively, purposely making Freida's skin lighter so we guess we'll just have to give them the benefit of the doubt.

The Palace Confirms Kate Middleton WON'T Be Posing For Vogue

Sorry Anna Wintour, no Kate Middleton for you. At least for the foreseeable future, as the Palace itself has well and truly confirmed that the Duchess of Cambridge will not be a Vogue cover girl any time soon. Although this was branded as Anna Wintour's dream, it isn't fair to say it's just Anna who will be missing out on the potential collaboration. We would have loved to see our princess covering the original fashion Bbble…maybe one day it will happen. Our fingers are crossed and we remain hopeful.

Is Britney's Criminal Video Too Reminiscent of the Recent Riots?

You may be aware by now that the one and only Miss Britney Spears is on England soil to shoot the music video to her next single, Criminal. However, Britters has been seen wandering the streets of London (well, her music video set) with a prop gun, which Hackney council say is insensitive due to the riots that affected England a few months ago.

Ian Rathbone of Hackney council said, "I think she should apologise and make a sizeable donation to a Hackney charity that deals with young people... for the rudeness and damage she's done to this community."

As disgraceful as we think the riots were, we don't really think a blonde, American pop star had anything to do with them and we're pretty sure the people of London and all those who watch her music video will feel the same way as the council. Luckily, Britney's 'people' weren't scared off and the filming of the video was resumed. There's nothing like a bit of controversy surrounding a music video…now we're anticipating its debut more than ever.

Kate Middleton Went To Topshop And Bought These Items

The Duchess of Cambridge fancied a spot of shopping and headed to the Topshop in Kensington to buy a cute green and black spotted pencil skirt and a blue and black boucle jacket. We won't bother to post the link of where to get them, because history has well and truly repeated itself (as expected) and the famous 'Kate effect' means that the items have sold out already. What do you think of Kate's new purchases?

Daily Style Crush: Crystal Renn in Zac Posen Resort

Ridiculous skinniness for a 'plus size' model aside, Crystal Renn looks as shimmering and glittering as the dress she wore to the opening night performance of Anna Bolena in New York last night. We absolutely love how she let her Zac Posen Resort 2012 gown speak for itself and didn't add any other accessories to it - apart from a fierce, fresh lick of red lippy. We also appreciate her altered, more conservative neckline too.

Kirsten Dunst Covers Flare November

We're beginning to love this magazine and resent that we don't get it in the UK more and more each issue. Kirsten Dunst sports a refreshing blonde choppy hairstyle with a fabulous fringe (we've had fringe/bang envy for years so always appreciate a good one when we see it) on the front cover and we love her youthful on-trend look. And where have we seen that gorgeous outfit before? Only on the wonderful Emma Stone at the premiere of Friends With Benefits - and both ladies look divine so don't ask us to do a 'who wore it better' because we're stumped for a winner. We feel we haven't seen a lot of K-Dunst lately so let's hope this is the first of many appearances to come; welcome back babe!

Pics of Marilyn Monroe's First Ever Shoot Going to Auction

More iconic auction news now, this time courtesy of the other Hollywood legend, Marilyn Monroe. Or as she was then known, Norma Jeane Dougherty. These rare pictures of the brunette (!!!) beauty were shot by Joseph Jasgur back in 1946 and were the result of Marilyn's first ever modelling shoot. The proceeds of the auction (scheduled in December) will go towards clearing the photographer's debts.

As well as getting their hands on the original pictures, the lucky winning bidder will also nab the negatives, release forms signed by the beauty herself and copyrights. Owning the copyrights allows the winner to make more money through distribution fees, so potentially, the purchase could be one hell of a money maker. Look how fresh faced and care free she looks? We hope the pics go to a good home!

Jade Thompson Wins Britain and Ireland's Next Top Model

Congratulations to gorgeous freckled beauty Jade Thompson, as she was crowned the winner of Britain and Ireland's Next Top Model last night. Jade pipped Lithuanian stunner Juste Juozapaityte to the post in the final, making it a tense but exciting end to the series that has had us hooked every Monday night.

Not tooting our horn, but we've been championing the final two girls from the start, as we saw something unique and special in the both of them. 20-year-old Jade, who was teased in school for her unusual look, said she used to be called a "skinny ginger nut" but this is sure to silence the bullies.

Although Jade is an almighty 5'10 and a teeny size 6, she was branded as one of the curvy ones in the competition. We hope that her association with curves will land her the Victoria's Secret job she's been craving, as well as lots of 'real women' style ads. Congrats once again to a truly deserving winner!

First Look: Gwen Stefani's Harajuku Mini For Target

Gwen Stefani's kids are undoubtedly two of the most stylish little-uns in the public eye, but Gwen is giving other children the opportunity to catch up with her fab new collection, Harajuku Mini for Target. The singer turned fashion designer's popular Harajuku line is down-sizing and is headed to Target in a matter of weeks (six to be precise). Here's your first look at the utterly adorable ad campaign.

Every girl knows that a tutu will never really go out of style, you only have to look at Carrie Bradshaw for proof, so why not start from an early age?

Do You Like Ke$ha's Baby-G Watches?

After her debut single Tik-Tok, a watch designing career was almost inevitable. Ke$ha is the latest celebrity to get on the designer bandwagon by launching two Baby-G limited edition watches. The two designs are very different from each other but we have to say we quite like them both, in a weird kind of way. The first one is a bit preppy and slightly Tommy Hilfiger-ish, while the other one has our hearts just because it features leopard print. In case readers weren't aware, we love the leopard over here.

They are both very Ke$ha, so we're glad the eccentric singer has stayed true to herself; the ad campaigns are pretty cool, too. Will you be buying one of the watches or do you think Ke$ha should stick to the day job?

Dorothy's Ruby Slippers Expected To Fetch Over £1m At Auction

This picture actually sends shivers down my spine. It's one thing seeing the famous ruby slippers in their glittering glory on television, but seeing them like this just makes it hit home that someone could actually get their hands on a piece of Hollywood and pop culture history and it shouldn't be taken lightly. If we could afford them, believe me, we'd hotfoot it to the auction house and pit in a bid, but sadly we don't think anything we have to offer would suffice. I personally don't really think they should be sold either, which is the exact same way I feel about Marilyn Monroe's iconic white dress that used to live with Debbie Reynolds in Hollywood.

This pair of shoes (one of four actually used in The Wizard of Oz) is expected to fetch well over £1million; a pair of 'test shoes' (i.e. a pair they made for the movie that was never actually worn by Judy Garland) was sold for nearly £400,000 a few months ago so of course the shoes that Dorothy actually slipped into will go for a much higher price. They even have scuff mark from the famous "there's no place like home" heel clicking, which in my opinion, is priceless.

We hope that they will go to a loving and well deserving home, but ideally we'd like to see them in museum. One pair is currently on display at the Smithsonian so not all hope of laying eyes on them is entirely lost, but we wouldn't object to them being spread across museums worldwide.

Nicola Formichetti Will Unveil Gaga Film At PFW

Exciting, isn't it? Mugler main man and Gaga stylist Nicola Formichetti will be using his Paris Fashion Week womenswear show on Thursday as a platform to unveil a never before seen video of Lady Gaga. The film was directed by Inez and Vinoodh, as were Gaga's 'fashion videos' for 'You and I' and will feature a brand new remix of one of her current songs (no word on which one yet.)

Apparently it isn't the only thing Formichetti has up his sleeve and although that's all we seem to know at the moment, he will be releasing teasers on social networking sites over the next few days, so keep your eyes peeled. We do also know that Lady Gaga has ordered a set of marquise diamonds for her teeth, so we know to expect the unexpected!

Forever 21 Collaborate With Hello Kitty

If you've been a die hard Hello Kitty fan for as long as you remember and intend to be one 'forever'… we have amazing news for you. Forever 21 and Hello Kitty have joined forces for one (we really wanted to say 'purr-fect' but we think it's too early for puns) almighty collection.

The collection consists of women's apparel, accessories, intimates, jewellery and so much more and from what we have seen from the teaser pics, it's too adorable to put into words. The hairbands and pussy-bow blouses are so very Blair Waldorf, meaning they definitely have our seal of approval.

As well as being an utterly sugar-sweet collection, it couldn't be more affordable, with prices ranging from just $3.80 to $30.

The limited-edition Forever 21 for Hello Kitty Exclusive Collection will be available in American stores and online (hopefully to non-US residents as well, fingers crossed!) from November 18th.

Daily Style Crush: Hailee Steinfeld in Versace Resort

The Teen Vogue Young Hollywood Party last week was attended by some of the hottest rising stars in Tinsel Town. Cute next generation actresses turned up in even cuter (and ever-so stylish) dresses so we've been struggling to pick a favourite look as so many stood out for us.

Little Hailee Steinfeld has blossomed into a style princess practically overnight grabbing the attention of Miu Miu along the way (they snapped her up to front their recent campaigns just in cast anyone forgot) so we're not the least bit surprised with her flourishing on the red carpet. Her asymmetrical Versace Resort 2012 dress wouldn't look great on everyone, but on Hailee, it's perfection. We like how she took inspiration from the catwalk and went with yellow accessories - bright and beautiful!

Kate Middleton to Cover American Vogue?

That Anna Wintour can be one very persuasive editor-in-chief, so if she is pressing Kate Middleton to cover her magazine, we have a feeling she will be more than happy to oblige. Anna Wintour is apparently adamant to get the new Royal to front American Vogue in the near future. She has enlisted the help of Mario Testino to help convince the Duchess, as he will inevitably be the one behind the lens if and when it happens.

A source told the New York Post: "Anna has been speaking to Mario about winning over Catherine. She is really pressing him to shoot Catherine for the cover. Every magazine has been trying to get Catherine, and many assume it will eventually be Vogue. But even with the Mario Testino relationship, it is not clear when this will happen. The palace must approve it, and they are very protective of Catherine."

Come on Palace, get on board - you know this will be amazing!

WATCH The Salvatore Ferragamo Spring/Summer 2012 Catwalk

Easily my favourite collection from Milan Fashion Week so far, which is why I'm sharing the video from the Salvatore Ferragamo Spring/Summer 2012 catwalk. Enjoy!

Elizabeth Olsen Covers Nylon October 2011

My, that female Olsen gene is one hell of a potent one - forget twins, Olsen triplets, anyone? Congratulations to Elizabeth Olsen, younger sister to the one and only fab duo that is Mary-Kate and Ashley, as she has just landed her first ever magazine cover! And unlike her older sisters who have shared the spotlight for the majority of their lives, she's doing it solo; and we have to say, she looks like a pro. She must have taken tips from her older sisters because she looks like she's been doing it for years.

We still don't know whether Elizabeth will have anything to do with the new Sex and the City prequel (rumour has it she will step into SJP's Manolos but there hasn't been an official confirmation yet) but either way, she most definitely isn't in her sisters' shadows and we can't wait to see her career blossom.

New Images of Gisele for Esprit A/W 2011

We understand that sometimes people can forget Gisele Bunchen has a face. The video we showed you on Friday of Gisele in some saucy underwear indicated why. This is why we imagine Esprit have chosen to remind us that the richest supermodel in the world actually has a very beautiful face, making women worldwide green with jealousy that yes some people really can have it all.

When we do see Ms Bundchen's body however, it's literally all covered up, proving that women don't have to get their kit off to be sexy. We'll be honest - we don't think Espirit have chosen the best of their collection for their adverts (at least, we hope a black turtle neck isn't the highlight). But, we are inclined to head over to their website and their stores to have a little nosey. That's the beauty of a powerful advert with a super-powerful woman fronting it. Job well done, Esprit.

Kate Moss Creates Jewellery Line for Fred

Kate Moss has got so many projects going on (both model-wise and designing-wise) that we bet she won't even notice if she adds another one into the mix. Mossy has created her very own jewellery collection for 'Fred', the French jewellery line owned by Louis Vuitton Moët Hennessy. If you're a hardcore Kate fan and think some of the designs look a little bit familiar, it's because they're actually inspired by some of her tattoos. Talk about a personal touch!

The full 23-piece collection goes on sale on October 1st and although it will be sold predominantly in France, you can get your hands on the pieces on Fred's online boutique or, for London-based fashionistas, in Harrods. Excited?

NEW Pic of Meryl Streep as Margaret Thatcher

Let's all admit that Meryl Streep is 'Hollywood icon' personified. She throws herself into each and every role and loses herself in her characters which is why she has and will always be remembered as one of the true Hollywood greats. Taking all of this into consideration, we still can't believe just how uncanny the resemblance of her as Margaret Thatcher is. We knew she'd do a knock-out job, we didn't doubt the Oscar winner for a second. but there's something almost haunting about how much Ms Streep has absorbed her new film role. We've seen her in action in the film trailer, but there's something about the poster that's in a league of its own. As Tyra Banks says, it's all in the eyes.

Catwalk Catchup: MFW Salvatore Ferragamo Spring/Summer 2012

Another Fashion Compendium favourite for Milan Fashion Week and if we're honest, from the entire Spring/Summer ready-to-wear range this season. Genuinely a little bit obsessed with this Salvatore Ferragamo collection; if we were put on the spot to pick a favourite, we think we'd crumble and probably cry under the pressure! The styling was impeccable for this show - we can't speak for the atmosphere and the music and all the other details as we sadly weren't in Milan to witness it with our own eyes, but from what we can see, it was perfection. Bright, silky, girly, summery goodness - and the loose side-swept beach waves were an added bonus!

High street chains, hear our plea: please look to this collection to draw inspiration for the majority of your summer clothes! Pay close attention to prints, material and colour and report back to us in a few months time. Lots of love, Fashion Compendium x

Catwalk Catchup: MFW Just Cavalli Spring/Summer 2012

We think this collection was made for rockstars! If skin-tight, metallic trousers, snakeskin (of the faux kind of course) and studs aplenty don't scream rock and roll, we don't know what does! It wouldn't be classic Cavalli without a snake involved, but they weren't the only animals in the mix, oh no. There was an abundance of animal skin on parade, from the leopard in particular.

You also found dresses with non existent hemlines and chic and sheer tops accompanying some fabulous skirts. The line was softened up a tad with some of the lace and suede numbers but as a whole, this collection was pretty much what we expected from the baby line of the Roberto Cavalli family.
