Brand New: Katy Perry for GHD's Scarlet Collection

Katy Perry shows her versatility in these sparkly adverts for the brand new GHD Scarlet collection. How much do you want those red stylers? So cute! Katy plays the part of the Evil Queen and Snow White in a photoshoot inspired by the classic tale. We have to say we prefer the first one; that pose is so fierce! If Katy ever wants to get into panto, that role would be perfect for her!

Daily Style Crush: Rihanna in Jeremy Scott

Whilst we wouldn't condone wearing this outfit down Oxford Street (ripped stockings and all) we think Rihanna looks amazing in it! We did wonder who would wear the ensemble when we saw it make its very recent debut on the Spring/Summer 2012 runway and now our question has been answered. Very few celebs would be able to pull it off - we imagine Katy Perry would also look smashing in it; maybe they should custom-make her a latex one to mix it up a little? In case you're wondering, Rihanna wasn't just casually walking around the street looking like this, she was in fact on the set of her music video for new single We Found Love. Can't wait to see it!

Katy Perry Covers US InStyle October

You're all probably aware that we have quite a soft spot for Katy Perry, so we always see anything she does through a slightly biased eye. However, we don't think you have to be a huge KP fan to realise that this is one hell of an awesome cover. This is the first time we've properly seen her newly dyed pink hair in a professional photograph and we have to say the end result is just as flawless as we thought it would be.

InStyle have given us yet another gorgeous cover and were love how they didn't take the autumn/winter theme too literately with the colour scheme and injected a splash of colour to it. The contrast of Katy's bright hair and the black Emanuel Ungaro dress, Louis Vuitton belt, nails and plain white background makes the cover all the more perfect and this is one of our favourite October covers we've seen so far. The editorial pics don't look too bad either!

Katy Perry Covers Cosmopolitan Australia October

Where's the blonde and/or pink hair then? Was this cover shot months and months in advance or does Australia know something we don't know about Katy Perry and her ever-changing locks? KP looks jut like the KP we know and love - raven hair and of course, daring outfits. And we wouldn't have her any other way. Check out her Cosmo quiz - it's a great read!

Daily Style Crush: Amber Le Bon in Jonathan Saunders

Amber Le Bon attended the Diesel Loverdose fragrance launch party in London in a red and black Jonathan Saunders dress from the Autumn/Winter 2011 catwalk. She was bang on-trend in the dress stakes but also in the hair stakes as she had a very 'now' and youthful hair accessory: pink streaks. Dip dying is making a come-back, as is pink hair courtesy of Katy Perry and Glee's Dianna Agron so Amber blended the two trends into one with her very stylish look.

Sometimes celebs can look older than their years in a bid to look classy (which we obviously prefer to the trashy look) but Amber avoided that with her style choices. Loving the wine colour right now, let's hope it gets translated into the High Street as well so we can stock up.

The Rest of the Best of the VMAS

Lady Gaga as alter ego Jo Calderone and Britney Spears at the MTV VMAs 2011

When Queen Bea makes an announcement, it's easy to forget that the VMAs were about more than just one bootylicious lady and her newly expanding family. Not only were some of the greatest artists in the music industry recognised, they also proved why they deserved to be there in the first place with an array of memorable performances (Adele and Beyonce blew us away!)  But here at good old Fashion Compendium HQ, the peak of our night was witnessing what all the stars arrived in...

Yes, there were a few celebs who should have, as the old cliche goes, sacked the stylist, but actually there was a pretty good mishmash of great looks around. It's pretty much anything goes at music award ceremonies, which is why although it isn't the start of the year, aka awards season, we can always look forward to the fashion on display.

Who do we have here then?

Beyonce (obv) and Kelly Rowland, in a gorgeous Falguni & Shane Peacock dress. I was lucky enough to see the A/W 2011 collection at London Fashion Week and knew that it would take a true goddess to pull off some of the feathered numbers…Kelly Rowland was a vision of perfection and this was exactly what I had in mind when I saw it on the catwalk.

Young Hollywood - Selena Gomez in Julien Macdonald, Demi Lovato and Miley Cyrus in Roberto Cavalli - so grown up and sophisticated. They've all been there, done that when it comes to showing the press that they've left their Disney days behind with their various antics, *ahem* bong, Miley Cyrus *ahem* but this time, they've chosen to do it the demure and elegant way, showing real maturity!

Katy Perry's Atelier Versace number was definitely the way we would go if we knew the dress code was bright, colourful and (the right side of) crazy. Nicki Minaj, bless her…well we personally wouldn't go for quite the same attire as she would, but she is a performer at the end of the day - out there to get noticed and make a statement and what have you. We admire her bravery and in a Nicki Minaj kind of way, she pulled it off. Disclaimer: This look is only really advised for Nicki Minaj - it may even make Miss Lady of Gaga squirm a little. Yikes.

Love how Adele did it for the Brits and sported a Burberry dress - respect! Britney also scrubbed up well in a Moschino dress, making us old-school nineties kids proud that she was our idol back in the day!

Fashion Press Week Highlights: Thomas Sabo

Aah we love press days. At first, being inundated with information about fantastic brand after fantastic brand can seem daunting, maybe even overwhelming. But it's one of our favourite aspects of being in the fashion biz. Fashion Press Week showcased the Autumn/Winter collections of some of our favourite brands of the moment. Sorel boots (worn by the likes of Megan Fox and Elle MacPherson), Thomas Sabo (whose famous spokesperson is none other than Fashion Compendium favourite Katy Perry) and loads more. Here's a (very) select few of our absolute favourites, with more to come in due course.

Thomas Sabo was one of the brands we were most excited to see, even more so since the appointment of a certain Miss Perry (PR and advertising working at its best then!) We loved the display of both the existing and new collections. We were also treated to a sneaky peak at the beauty products too, and a very gorgeous smelling perfume. The charm collection is one of those timeless classic collections that we don't think will ever get old. So many potential favourites! Keep your eyes peeled for the brand new collection when it hits stores - you know we'll be on it.

FHM readers vote Katy Perry as sexiest woman

So,  this week we learnt that Maxim has named Rosie Huntington-Whitely as the sexiest woman, while Glamour named Emma Watson as the best dressed woman. We're so excited to learn that Katy Perry has topped Australian FHM's 100 Sexiest list. (She pipped Jennifer Hawkins and Miranda Kerr to the post who came second and third respectively.) Head to FHM.com.au to see the full list, and to see where the likes of Elle MacPherson, Kylie and Dannii Minogue and our very own Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton ranked.

Katy Perry covers Vanity Fair June

Miss Perry is channeling a mix of Betty Boop, Elizabeth Taylor and old school Katy Perry circa I Kissed a Girl…or is that just us? Either way, this confirms why we love the girl. Always glamorous, and ever popular - we bet this copy is going to shift its fair share of copies. Annie Leibovitz clearly brings out the fabulousness in people.

Daily Style Crush: Katy Perry

This was about the only picture we could find of Miss Katy Perry alone before hubby Russell Brand swooped her up and together they engaged in some serious PDAs. Katy Perry seems to love her nude, floor sweeping gowns, and this gorgeous Phillip Armstrong one is no different. The Arthur premiere seemed to have a super-stylish red-carpet (see yesterday's Style Crush!)

Katy Perry's E.T video in full

After seeing some sneaky promo pics, we were so excited to finally see the video in full, and here it is, in all its extra terrestrial glory.

And congratulations to Miss Katy Perry (or Mrs Russell Brand) for her fourth consecutive US Number 1, putting her in the same league as Mariah Carey - not a bad comparison to say the least!

Bid on Katy Perry's blue wig

Want to get your hands (or, head) on a Katy Perry original blue wig?

Our favourite California Gurl is auctioning off one of her original blue wigs  for Comic Relief.

As well as being the proud owner of the wig, the winning bidder will also be followed by Miss Perry on Twitter for 90 days, as well as being retweeted by her and having an '@ reply' from her too. It all sounds very 2011 doesn't it? How technologically advanced!

If you want to bid for the wig and Twitter experience (it currently stands at £565) or just want to follow the bidding process, you can find the listing here

Happy Red Nose Day!

Katy Perry named GHD Ambassador

Katy Perry has put her name to yet another brand. Not long after being named Thomas Sabo's first ever spokesperson and coming out with a killer debut advertising campaign, Mrs Russell Brand has become the ambassador for GHD.

The singer will be shot by none other than David LaChapelle, in a global multimedia campaign. GHD are also sponsoring her current California Dreams tour, which means fabulous hair all round.
