Vogue got criticised a bit for using a headshot of Adele instead of her whole body on their October cover simply because Adele's a bit bigger than your average runway model. Most non runway models are though. Critics must also be forgetting that a fashion picture doesn't just have to be a full body shot displaying as many designer pieces as possible.
Take this picture of Kate Winslet on the cover of V Magazine for their 73rd issue. You can't even call it a headshot - it's more of a face shot - and it speaks volumes. You can tell that Kate is an Oscar winning actress; it's all in the eyes - she's sold this magazine to us even more than a half naked, oily Taylor Lautner could. Simple, yet powerful.
