Happy Royal Wedding Day

Fashion Compendium is abandoning its duties tomorrow as I am off to attend a Royal Wedding Best of British party on the other side of the country (dressed as one of the Queen's corgis no less!) and the owl is coming with me!

Whilst I won't be blogging about the event as it happens, my Blackberry will remain a permanent fixture in my hand, and I will be tweeting live throughout the day. Our Twitter name is @fashcompendium if you don't follow us already. I'll be looking forward to hearing all of your opinions about the all-important dress and every other little detail.

Be sure to visit throughout the rest of the Bank Holiday weekend when we will have given the blog a royal update and have the essential lowdown on what promises to be the wedding of the century.

Enjoy Friday - and of course, congrats to Wills and Kate!

Daria Werbowy for Oroton A/W 2011

Miss Werbowy seems to be everywhere these days doesn't she? Lancome, Stefanel and now Oroton.

The great thing about this model is that she doesn't let the campaign define her, and she always comes into her own; she doesn't have just one look or pose, and that's what we think makes a great model. That, and 'smise-ing' of course, if America's Next Top Model has taught us anything!

DIRTYloves launch online shop

The DIRTYloves online magazine has just launched its very own online shop full of own brand collations from Sugarhill Boutique. The site unfortunately crashed only a few hours after going live due to the overwhelming demand but the guys at DIRTYloves are frantically tapping away to fix it before the Royal Wedding, so be sure to keep checking back.

They have some truly fab items on offer - no wonder the site went down! Whether it's affordable party dresses you're after or some cute little accessories to glam up an existing outfit, they've got something there for everyone. The average prices range from £32 to £55, with accessories available from just £10.

Check it out at dirtyloves.com/shop.

Freja Beha Erichsen for Harry Winston

Freja Beha Erichsen does a mighty fine job of promoting Harry Winston jewellery. This is the first campaign pic for the current season that has been released, but we hope more will be along soon!

Cindy Crawford covers Vogue Mexico

They don't call her a supermodel for nothing. If we looked half as good as Cindy Crawford at her age, we'd be very happy bunnies. But we don't actually know what age she is, as she always seems to look fabulous and youthful, doesn't she? We may have to start calling her Peter Pan as she doesn't ever seem to age. What a babe!

Brand new picture of Prince William and Kate Middleton released

There’s less than 24 hours to go until the Royal Wedding, and to add to the hype and excitement of the nation, a brand new picture of Prince William and Kate Middleton has been released.

The black and white photo was shot by none other than Mario Testino, the man behind the lens for the couple’s official engagement pictures. The ‘informal picture' was always our favourite of the two (an opinion shared by many), and this photograph is of the same nature: casual, fun, and most importantly, depicting love and happiness. The couple genuinely look like your average loved-up couple who cant wait to embark upon a new adventure and start their new life together as husband and wife.

Karlie Kloss for iCB S/S 2011

Another fabulously sunny post to complement the weather and our mood because of said weather (and the prospect of a right royal four day weekend.) Photographer Ryan McGinley and art director Doug Lloyd really have done a stellar job bringing all the gorgeous bolds of the collection to life.

Add to Shopping Bag: Got Jack top

A Royal Wedding British-inspired purchase today: A 'Got Jack' top from Cafepress which proudly displays the British flag. At just £15, it's perfect patriotic-wear for Friday!

The Glamour May 2011 girls

Single cover stars are obviously a thing of the past, as all the glossies seem to be getting on board with featuring more than one cover girl for their magazines. Glamour is following im the footsteps of Vogue and Marie Claire to name but a few to choose multiple cover stars.

They have selected three gorgeous girls to do the task of fronting their May issue - we think it's a great decision as it would have been a toughie trying to choose between Freida Pinto, Ashley Greene and Emma Stone. Which of the cover starlets do you love the most?

Daily Style Crush: Lea Michele

What better way to look forward to the 4 day weekend than with a bright, bold and beautiful Lea Michele?! The Glee goddess was spotted in Central Park filming scenes for the finale of the current season of the show with the rest of her equally colourful co-stars. Lea Michele, or Rachel Berry, we love your wardrobe choices!

Givenchy's new Dahlia Noir fragrance

The brand new fragrance from Givenchy is getting everyone talking. It is described as both 'haunting' and 'sensual', as well as a 'fatal flower' for mysterious women. We don't know what a haunting fatal flower smells like, but dammit we want to find out.

Mariacarla Boscono, who has acted as a muse for Riccardo Tisci for a while now, fronts the campaign for the first advert, only making us drawn to it even more. We will have to wait at least a few more months though, as it's not officially out until the end of the year.

Blake Lively showcases new red hair

Blake Lively wowed us twice when she turned up on the Red Carpet at the Time 100 Gala in New York looking like this. And red was the first thing that sprang to mind when we saw the pictures, as she debuted her gorgeous new red hair colour.

She follows in the recent colour-change footsteps of Mandy Moore and Drew Barrymore. The second part of her appearance we couldn't help noticing was her Zuhair Murad Couture dress. Miss Lively opted for the even more daring version of the dress, but the thing we love about this Gossip Girl is that she can pull off almost anything - and pull it off she definitely did!

Virtual Handbag Rail: Mulberry Gold Leopard Bayswater

Gold and glitter and leopard print all in one? Divine, even if we do say so ourselves. Check it out in all its golden glory here.

Crystal Renn's Vogue Japan spread

We saw yesterday that Naomi Campbell graced the front cover of the magazine, but Crystal Renn has ensured that the inside of the magazine is no less glamourous than the front. Shot by Nathaniel Goldberg, Crystal Renn showcases one of the most prominent (and certainly, one of our favourite) trend from the current season - the turban.

Alfred Angelo's Disney wedding dresses

What little girl doesn't imagine her wedding day being reminiscent of that of Disney Princess? Well Alfred Angelo have kept that theme in their heads and run with it, as they have created Disney Princess inspired wedding dresses, of which these are our favourites. And being a Princess comes at a pretty affordable cost too it seems.

Head over to alfredangelo.com to check out the whole collections and see more details on your favourite dresses. Do you think actual soon-to-be Princess Kate Middleton will have a similar dress to any of these?

Cheryl Cole's new L'Oreal Elnett ad

To celebrate 50 years of Elnett Hairspray, Cheryl Cole is starring in the latest ad rocking some gargantuan hair. We couldn't help but notice that her hairstyle is almost identical to that of the Brit awards…trial run maybe? Or was the ad shot on the same day we wonder? Either way, Miss Cheryl looks fabulous, even in the promo pic to the right which her PR team tweeted to fans previously.

Add to Shopping Bag: Matthew Williamson Batik Scarf

This beautiful silk printed Batik scarf from Matthew Williamson may very well be the next item I purchase. Scarves are the perfect accessory at the moment as they glam up any outfit - and the colours in this scarf play to the current brights trend perfectly. This will definitely be £159 well spent - check it out here

Gorgeous items from new brand *DIED*

Hopefully your lack of knowledge of the Dutch brand *DIED* will end here. Behold some of our favourite stand-out pieces from the collection which we think will take the fashion world by storm. The products have been inspired by the designer's travels around the globe, so you can expect to see some multi-cultural elements weaved into the deigns.

The luxury handmade products have just launched in the UK at their online store diedshop.com. If it's statement jewellery you're after, *DIED* may very well have you sorted. What do you think about this great new brand? Here to stay? Here is our pick of our favourite pieces, but be sure to check out the website for the full selection.

Michelle Williams covers Interview magazine

Every time we see Michelle Williams, we see more and more of her persona unveiled through her fashion choices and these pictures are no exception.

Ever since she sported her cute pixie crop, her fashion choices have been impeccable and she has really come into her own as an actress and, dare we say it, style icon. We are loving her socks and Mary-Janes combo.

Daily Style Crush: Hayden Panettiere

The gorgeous blonde beauty looked uber-glam at the premiere of Klitschko at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York. Looking bronzed and glowing, she does evening attire beautifully - all-black accessories, but kept to a minimum, on-trend rosy pink lipstick and a flawless up-do which was definitely the right choice considering the rest of the outfit. Gorgeous.

Covent Garden Burberry Brit store officially open

We were so excited when Burberry tweeted this picture of the Covent Garden Burberry Brit store! Looks delicious doesn't it? If anyone manages to go in the next few days, please please let us know what you bought!

Anna Jagodzinska for David Yurman S/S 2011

Last week we showed you Kate Moss's David Yurman ad campaigns for the Spring/Summer collection, and now it's the turn of Anna Jagodzinska to do the honours. Showcasing some truly stunning jewellery, the model does a fab job.

Angelina Jolie reportedly the new face of Louis Vuitton

We took to our Twitter page as soon as the rumours started flying around last week, but now we are pretty sure that Miss Angelina Jolie has been confirmed as the newest face of Louis Vuitton. The mother of six has been offered a staggering $10million contract – we know she doesn’t need the money, and we also know that a lot of it will go towards the excellent causes she so famously works with in true Angelina Jolie fashion.

Not only will a great charity benefit from this huge paycheque, but we can look forward to what will undoubtedly be one of the most jaw-droppingly stunning campaigns we have seen in a long time. The fact that it will apparently be shot by Annie Leibovitz (who has brought us many a flawless Jolie pic in the past) only makes us that much more excited. Bring on the summer please!

Dream Wardrobe Piece: Marc Jacobs

Since the Royal Wedding is this Friday (where has the time gone?!) and this post is about living in a dreamland anyway, we may as well add the dream factor of being invited to the wedding of the century in there. If we were wedding guests, this Marc Jacobs dress may very well be on the short list of possible wedding outfits.

The latest Burberry Brights S/S 2011 campaigns

Behold the latest Burberry Brights ad campaigns featuring the one and only Cara Delevingne. Another stunningly British campaign shot on Brighton beach by Mario Testino.

Add to Shopping Bag: Warehouse skirt

Kate Middleton may have walked out of Warehouse with some essential honeymoon holiday pieces, but we don't think she spotted this leopard print bodycon skirt otherwise we're pretty sure she would have snapped it up. We love this skirt - wear with a plain black top and some killer heels and you're good to go!

Naomi Campbell covers Vogue Japan June 2011

Naomi Campbell shows that she's still got it on the cover of Vogue Japan's June issue. Miss Campbell is shot by Inez & Vinoodh and is rocking one of our favourite dresses from the Gucci Spring/Summer 2011 collection.

The H&M By Night collection

Here are four of our absolute favourite pieces from the collection, modelled by the beautiful Emma Maclaren.

Daily Style Crush: Kelly Osbourne

I think this is my favourite Kelly Osbourne look, quite possibly ever. She was snapped at the God Bless Ozzy Osbourne premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival (the same festival that brought us the Karl Lagerfeld Rachel Bilson Magnum short films) in a figure hugging floor length dress that accentuated every last curve perfectly.

The jacket added some casual sophistication, as did the super-glamorous up-do. The hot-pink lipstick just topped it off to give it the perfect ten-out-of-ten mark - contemporary, relevant, figure-appropriate and actually flawless. - This ensemble definitely proves that she is worthy of her Fashion Police role.

Daria Werbowy for Stefanel S/S 2011

One of Mario Testino's latest efforts is this
Stefanel Spring/Summer 2011 campaign featuring the beautiful Daria Werbowy. Gorgeous products; stunning model and flawless photography - but then again we wouldn't expect any less from Mr Testino, would we?

Virtual Handbag Rail: Chloe Aurore

Angelina Jolie is a fan of this bag..that says it all doesn't it? I am a lover of all things tan coloured at the moment, and this tote is no exception. It's perfect for the holiday season - great for using it as hand-luggage at the airport, don't you agree?

Kim Kardashian covers Diva magazine

On the front cover of Egyptian title Diva's April issue is the one and only Miss Kim Kardashian. Another gorgeous cover in terms of image, layout and colour schemes. The cover was shot by Nick Saglimbeni, who has had the honour of photographing many a Kardashian in the past.

Kate Moss's Vogue Paris editorial pictures

Mert and Marcus appear to have outdone themselves this time. They have proved to the cynics that Kate Moss is deserving of every single page she graces, and these shots show that Emmanuelle Alt's choice to make her the Vogue Paris cover girl was the right one.

There are so many dynamic pictures in the editorial, it's proving difficult to pinpoint a favourite. The black and white shots are striking to say the least, as are the images where Miss Moss appears to be wearing every single colour of the rainbow.

Her presence in front of the camera, plus the brights of the outfits and their craftsmanship make the whole editorial look as colourful and bold as it is daring and edgy. One of our favourite Kate Moss photoshoots (of which there have been many) this year so far.
