Elizabeth Olsen Covers Nylon October 2011

My, that female Olsen gene is one hell of a potent one - forget twins, Olsen triplets, anyone? Congratulations to Elizabeth Olsen, younger sister to the one and only fab duo that is Mary-Kate and Ashley, as she has just landed her first ever magazine cover! And unlike her older sisters who have shared the spotlight for the majority of their lives, she's doing it solo; and we have to say, she looks like a pro. She must have taken tips from her older sisters because she looks like she's been doing it for years.

We still don't know whether Elizabeth will have anything to do with the new Sex and the City prequel (rumour has it she will step into SJP's Manolos but there hasn't been an official confirmation yet) but either way, she most definitely isn't in her sisters' shadows and we can't wait to see her career blossom.

Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen Get Charitable in Honduras

Any readers of Fashion Compendium will know that we totally get behind the good causes and love it when the celebs take time out of their busy schedules to give back.

As avid Olsen fans may know, Mary-Kate and Ashley's clothing line The Row has recently collaborated with TOMS Shoes. So, as part of their new partnership, the twins flew to Honduras to personally donate shoes to children in need. Aww - they could have just sent the shoes in a box with a couple of autographs, but Mary-Kate and Ashley truly got behind the cause and went the extra mile! They also decided to hang with the locals, you know, as you do, and even played football with them. Bless!

Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen in Vogue

Now that the rest of the pictures have emerged, here they are in all their Vogue glory.

I've always adored the Olsen twins growing up; their feel-good guilty pleasure films, their fashion, and their general presence. It was heartbreaking when the going got tough for one twin in particular, but they have reinvented themselves as fashion designers for The Row, which is up there with the best of them.

And these pictures recapture their youthful, playful innocence which we loved about them in the first place.

Bruce Weber did a mighty fine job.
