Catwalk Catchup: PFW Chanel Spring/Summer 2012

No Fashion Week review would be complete without mentioning Chanel. Their Spring/Summer 2012 offering at Paris Fashion Week was a sea (literally) of magic! It was an underwater fantasy complete with the hottest models in the biz and one Miss Florence Welch singing to the crowd from a shell…true story.

Karl Lagerfeld was keen to mix it up a little this season, opting to step outside the box and create a collection that wasn't "very Chanel". Why? Because Kaiser Karl so rightly mentioned that Chanel's style is being done by many other designers.
What do you think?

Catwalk Catchup: PFW Viktor & Rolf Spring/Summer 2012

Paris Fashion Week got off to a slow start but we definitely got what we bargained for as far as the weekend's shows were concerned. There were so many collections to keep track of we almost (notice how we said almost) regretted wishing for more.

Viktor & Rolf truly captured the essence of a Spring/Summer show in terms of the outfits themselves, the styling and the show as a whole. Bold colours, vivid prints, cute silhouettes - they were all there. Plus, any catwalk that features Miranda Kerr instantly gets a head start. Definitely one of our favourite collections; can you blame us?

Miranda Kerr Covers Harper's Bazaar Australia November

Looks like Alexa Chung isn't the only celeb to fly the flag for Britain with her outfit choices. Flawless beauty Miranda Kerr, i.e. Mrs Orlando Bloom, poses up a storm on the front cover of Australia's Harper's Bazaar November issue, wearing a cute outfit by designer of the moment, Mary Katrantzou. This collection screams Stella McCartney fruit obsession, but in a totally new and refreshing way; Miranda totally does the outfit justice and we can't wait to see the editorial!

Doutzen Kroes Covers Vogue Germany October

The first thing that caught our eye when we saw this October cover of Vogue Germany was the 'Power Look' bit. Because Doutzen Kroes sums up that phrase in every sense, in our opinion. She may have only recently given birth to her first child, but as Elle Macpherson and Miranda Kerr have taught us, supermodels bounce back almost instantly. They bounce back in terms of body and in terms of getting themselves out there on the modelling scene. We loved seeing Doutzen play a more motherly role in her Tiffany and Co ads yesterday, but we've missed her high fashion face…this one right here. What a pro!

A Sneak Peek at the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show Outfits

It never ceases to amaze us just how much work and intricate detail is put into evert single preliminary fashion sketch - just looking at these is enough to make the mind boggle. We wish we had the time and the artistic talent to dream up designs like this and put pen to paper and show the world what we were thinking.

So, can you imagine Adriana Lima, Lily Aldridge, Alessandra Ambrosio and Miranda Kerr strutting their stuff in these designs at the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show? We sure can - and can't wait until November 29th when the show will take place.

Elle Goes Model Crazy for October

A lot of fashion magazines get criticised for regularly favouring celebrity cover stars over models and we're quite glad that the models are slowly but surely making a comeback. Note British Vogue's decision to feature Freja Beha Erichsen on their September cover - a very wise decision; we loved it. So Elle US have also decided that they're going to honour the supermodel - and honour them they have by choosing FOUR of the hottest and relevant models of 2011. Nice!

So, enjoy Miranda Kerr, Adriana Lima, Chanel Iman and Doutzen Kroes in all their bright and beautiful glory. We don't think these covers will get lost in a sea of other mags not only because of who they feature, but because of all the gorgeous and very bright pieces they're wearing. To quote one of our favourite films of all time, Legally Blonde..."snaps for Elle!"

FHM readers vote Katy Perry as sexiest woman

So,  this week we learnt that Maxim has named Rosie Huntington-Whitely as the sexiest woman, while Glamour named Emma Watson as the best dressed woman. We're so excited to learn that Katy Perry has topped Australian FHM's 100 Sexiest list. (She pipped Jennifer Hawkins and Miranda Kerr to the post who came second and third respectively.) Head to FHM.com.au to see the full list, and to see where the likes of Elle MacPherson, Kylie and Dannii Minogue and our very own Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton ranked.
