Kristen Stewart Covers November's Glamour

She may not be as glamorous as she was on the September cover of W magazine, but this is by far our favourite K-Stew magazine cover since…well, ever! Why? Because she looks comfortable and more like herself than we've ever seen on a magazine cover before and that earns lots of Fashion Compendium points. Plus, Kristen's magazine cover appearance only reminds us that Twilight Breaking Dawn Part 1 is almost upon us and we could not be more excited!

Karlie Kloss's Naked Allure Shoot Makes People Uncomfortable

More editorial controversy now, (it's been a few days so it's about time!) this time courtesy of Karlie Kloss - good, clean, wholesome teenager Karlie Kloss. She hasn't done anything scandalous per se, but her Allure editorial pictures shot by Mario Testino are a bit too racy for some people's liking.

Top fashion site 'Fashionising' had this to say: "there’s no allure to it and, frankly, it’s not that much better than what you’d expect to find in a whole range of low-brow men’s titles…"

Karlie's 'implied nudity' (i.e. being naked but without showing it) has made many people uncomfortable, but I personally don't think it's any cruder than many of those Parisian Vogue editorials where models are near enough completely starkers. The black and white shot in particular is shot beautifully and Karlie is absolutely breathtaking. What do you think?

Michelle Williams as Marilyn Monroe: The Vogue Editorial

Annie Leibovitz is quite the controversial photographer, but she appears to have toned it down a tad for these pictures of Michelle Williams as Marilyn Monroe for October's Vogue magazine. Michelle Williams may not look the spitting image of the Hollywood icon facially, but a huge part of Marilyn's appeal was her vivacious, infectious personality and presence in front of a camera, which I think Michelle has perfected down to a tee.

Plus, she's worked hard getting a Marilyn body and we have to give her credit for it - loving her killer curves. Some women have to shed the pounds for a film role but akin to Renee Zellweger circa Bridget Jones, Michelle Williams had to pile them on. From the back you'd have a hard time telling the two women apart, wouldn't you say?

Olivia Wilde Covers Allure Magazine's October Issue

A very nude looking Olivia Wilde (sorry boys, not nude in that way!) covers Allure magazine and we're actually loving her even more than we initially thought. Apparently, that is possible. Although our inner green eyed monster is coming out a little bit; no one can look THAT good with so little make-up on surely? Olivia's eyes are smouldering and captivating - who needs make-up and gorgeous clothes when Olivia's piercing eyes are staring down the camera lens.

The editorial continues down the bare-faced and gorgeous route and the interview looks pretty interesting too. Olivia opens up about the early staged of her career and we're liking what an empowering woman she is; e.g. 'I'm not going to sell my body to get a role; it's about the acting.' How about that?!

Lara Stone Pays Tribute to Elizabeth Taylor in V Magazine

Apparently the in thing right now is to channel Hollywood screen sirens! We've always tried to inject a bit of Marilyn Monroe, Audrey Hepburn and Elizabeth Taylor into our wardrobes, but the mags are loving it more than ever these days. Not that we are complaining.

V magazine are continuing with their tribute to Elizabeth Taylor by making Lara Stone get all dolled up to channel the late Hollywood legend. We're not sure about the hair, but we love the editorial. Lara Stone looks breathtaking at the best of times and this is no different. A touch of fifties class suits Lara well.

Reese Witherspoon Covers Marie Claire US October 2011

We do love a bit of Reese Witherspoon, we do! Marie Claire US have a slightly better idea than some of its other counterparts around the world about what it takes to churn out a truly fabulous cover. We will stop going on about the Marie Claire Keira Knightley saga after this post, we promise, but we'd just like to point out that Reese's cover has the wow factor. A cover doesn't need to be bold, vivid, in your face and feature lots of high fashion on it to be successful and memorable.

It also helps if the cover is accompanied by a killer editorial and a pretty decent interview - both of which have huge ticks in the Marie Claire October mag box. Will Reese Witherspoon ever disappoint us?*

*Just heard Reese Witherspoon got hit by a car. She has minor injuries but we send our Fashion Compendium love and well wishes to her. Get better soon Reese!

Miley Cyrus Smoulders on the Cover of Prestige Magazine

Not going to lie, we aren't hardcore subscribers of Prestige magazine. In fact sometimes we struggle to remember that it exists. No offence to it, but you understand how it can get lost amongst the Vogues and the Cosmos of the publishing world. But, having Miley Cyrus on their September cover was an excellent decision to remind us of its existence.

Miley has donned that famed red Gucci top for the cover, also worn by our gorgeous Beyonce and Kristen Stewart (yes we just said those two names in the same sentence; and what?) and to be fair to her…she owns it! The hairstyle is so sleek and high fashion and makes Miley look older than her 18 years - not in the writhing around on a pole smoking a bong way - in a good way!

Keira Knightley's Marie Claire UK October Editorial

Why Marie Claire didn't use either of these pictures for the front cover is beyond us! This is definitely more like it - the Keira we know and love, back to her best. Face and body are flawless - particularly her legs that seem to go on for weeks. They're enough to unleash anyone's inner green-eyed monster. Well done Robert Erdmann, you had a true beaut in front of your lens and you made the most of that opportunity!

Ashley Tisdale covers Zooey magazine and helps Japan

Two Ashley Tisdale stories in one - because that's how we roll. Miss Tisdale brought a huge amount of LA glamour to the front cover of Zooey magazine for their May issue. I like the whole layout of this front cover - not too much going on to pull focus from the cover star, and of course, the picture they chose of Ashley Tisdale is spot on. The video of the behind-the-scenes action is a great watch too - just looking at it shows how natural Ashley is in front of the camera, and at the same time, how versatile.

The whole shoot took place in January, and there are two great candid polaroids which have been signed by the Zooey cover star and are being auctioned off to raise money for Japan. Head to the Zooey website for more information, and of course, to see more pictures from the gorgeous shoot and read some of the editorial.
