Christian Louboutin Gets His Own Book

This post has been lurking around i our drafts for about a week and for that, we apologise because news like this deserves to be shouted from the rooftops. Christian Louboutin is launching his first ever book to coincide with the brand's 20th anniversary. The coffee table book will contain in-depth interviews, candid personal photos and professional photography of Louboutin's iconic shoes by the talented Philippe Garcia. As if that wasn't enough, the designer has also snapped up Dita von Teese, Kristin Scott-Thomas and Mika to contribute to his latest project. Hands up if you're excited…

Miss Piggy's Wardrobe is Probably More Impressive Than Yours

If Zac Posen and Christian Louboutin are lining up to custom make you some clothes and shoes respectively, then we take that back. If they aren't then we stand by our statement that Miss Piggy's wardrobe has it better than all of ours put together!

As with any big budget Hollywood movie, costumes are a very important factor, so why should the upcoming Muppets film be any different? Especially when Miss Piggy plays the editor of French Vogue. Meryl Streep got kitted out in her fair share of Hermes for her role in Devil Wears Prada, so of course Miss Piggy should get the superstar designer treatment too. Zac Posen has custom-made Miss Piggy a miniature dress of one of his runway outfits (no word on which one yet), while Christian Louboutin has made her a beautiful pair of red-soled shoes.

Jealous doesn't even begin to describe how we are feeling right now! The Muppets movie is out soon and we are looking forward to watching it, even if it's purely for the fashion!

Fashion House Wars - YSL vs Christian Louboutin

It's all kicking off at the fashion houses again, and the week's barely even begun. To recap very quickly, Yves Saint Laurent are hitting back at Christian Louboutin, who filed a lawsuit against them earlier this year for allegedly copying the red soles of their shoes.

Yves Saint Laurent fired back with the reasoning that Louboutin didn't invent red soles, and even gave the example that YSL themselves had made red soled shoes from as early as the seventies; they also referenced Dorothy's famous ruby slippers from the Wizard of Oz as an argument in favour of their case.

Yves Saint Laurent aren't the only ones on the receiving end of Louboutin legal action - they also sued Carmen Steffens for the same thing. The house of Louboutin understandably takes all copying very seriously, as they have trademarked the red soles with the US Patent and Trademark office, and YSL (or anyone else who manufactures and sells red soled shoes) are infringing upon the trademark.

We don't know about you, but whenever we think of Louboutins, red soles instantly come to mind, and when we think of red soles, we naturally think of Louboutins. So we think Christian Loubotuin definitely have a case on their hands. We really hope the issue gets resolved soon though, because we are equally in love with Yves Saint Laurent and hate to see two of our favourite French fashion houses at loggerheads.

What do you make of all of the hoo-har?

Nicholas Kirkwood opens London Mayfair store

Yep, you read correctly, London's Mayfair is getting its very own Nicholas Kirkwood stand-alone store and it's opening THIS Friday. Excited much? Nicholas Kirkwood told British Vogue that he is most excited about being able to do his own show, which is something he never had the chance to do before.

The store will be housed next to shoe-lovers' favourites Christian Louboutin, as well as Marc Jacobs, with Kirkwood telling Vogue that he couldn't have asked for a better spot. The store will not only feature the shoes from the latest Spring/Summer collection, but will also sell items from their collaboration with Swarovski (earrings, rings to name but a few.)

This is only the beginning for Nicholas Kirkwood, as his next move is said to be in New York, with Hong Kong and Dubai also potentially in the works.

Inside Khloe Kardashian's wardrobe

Just look at the red sea of Louboutin soles! Oh to have even a third of this wardrobe! Khloe is clearly a girl after our own hearts with her love of everything shiny and glitzy. Just look at the phone if further proof is needed!

The Kardashian-Odom girl opened her closet for Elle to delve inside, which you can see more of on Elle's official website.

Elle McPherson on the school run

This isn't the first time we've seen Elle MacPherson put the other mums to shame on the school run. This time, she was seen sporting Christian Louboutin Lucife pumps, and a gorgeous Roberto Cavalli Diva tote. If you want to replicate the look too but don't have Elle's bank account, or bravery as far as the heels are concerned, take a look at what we managed to find:

Dorothy Perkins roll neck jumper; £10…Dorothy Perkins leggings; £14…House of Fraser Linea tote; £55.20…Karen Millen studded courts; £200…Vivienne Westwood VW683 Black Smoke sunglasses; £190

If you want to do the school run or go somewhere equally casual and don't want to go in dangerously spiky heels, you can get cheaper and more comfortable ones from Karen Millen for £200; they feature the stud element which the Louboutins have, but the thicker heel makes them a much safer and more comfortable option.
