Reese Witherspoon Covers Marie Claire US October 2011

We do love a bit of Reese Witherspoon, we do! Marie Claire US have a slightly better idea than some of its other counterparts around the world about what it takes to churn out a truly fabulous cover. We will stop going on about the Marie Claire Keira Knightley saga after this post, we promise, but we'd just like to point out that Reese's cover has the wow factor. A cover doesn't need to be bold, vivid, in your face and feature lots of high fashion on it to be successful and memorable.

It also helps if the cover is accompanied by a killer editorial and a pretty decent interview - both of which have huge ticks in the Marie Claire October mag box. Will Reese Witherspoon ever disappoint us?*

A Re-released Keira Knightley Pic For Marie Claire UK October

Just realised that this same image of Keira Knightley has been regurgitated across Marie Claire magazines worldwide - and not even in a wide space of time. This picture of our English Rose was first seen on the September issue for the Ukraine, Australia and the Netherlands. This begs the question: just how broke ARE Marie Claire?

We know magazines of the same title and sometimes even publishing company use the same images and alter them slightly or at least put them on a different background, but this is taking image distribution to a new level, isn't it? Are MC really that stumped for cover stars? We know this isn't the first time they have re-printed a cover, but at least give it a few months between each release, yeah Marie Claire?

If we're being brutally honest, the cover isn't that amazing to warrant multiple distribution. Sure, it's a nice, pretty picture of Keira Knightley but that's all it is. Plus - note the "update your look" irony…

Katie Price Poses Pretty in UK Marie Claire October 2011

It's not often we write about Katie Price because, let's face it, this is a fashion blog after all and…pink velour tracksuits would probably make Anna Wintour cry. However, Marie Claire have made the decision to feature the model in their October issue, so they must have saw some potential in her. She does have a fashion collection (Day 22 apparently) after all, so maybe we should give her the benefit of the doubt. Besides, she looks quite nice in this picture!

We are very interested to see how Marie Claire will tackle their interview with Jordan; we wonder what she will have to talk about that differs from the usual OK interviews? Time will tell and we don't have long to go as Marie Claire hits the shelves on Thursday - hooray!

Ps- another reason for us posting this is the sneaky peek at the cover featuring Keira Knightley - looking good, isn't it? Can't wait to see it properly - watch this space!

Jennifer Aniston Covers Australian Marie Claire October

Another cover star for you guys today, this time courtesy of Marie Claire Down Under. Jennifer Aniston is once again gracing an October cover in a signature black ensemble. We're used to seeing Jen don the black when it comes to premieres, photo calls and other official events and we know she has goddess-like pins to die for, but it would have been nice for the guys at Marie Claire to mix it up a bit. Maybe she will sport some different looks in the editorial; our fingers are crossed. 

Don't get us wrong, Jennifer would look the dog's proverbials wearing a bin liner, but we like it when Hollywood stars are out of their comfort zone within the confines of a fashion magazine page. Still smoking' though, Jen!

Two stars that are regular faces on Fashion Compendium - Kate Hudson and Ginnifer Goodwin. Again proving the ever popular theory that two A-list celebs are better than one. Monochrome-magic!

Love the styling, love the hair, love it all. There's some more cracking pictures inside, so this is definitely not an issue to be missed. Plus, that Vivienne Westwood exclusive feature looks like it's going to be a great read! 

Kate Hudson covers Marie Claire Australia

Still blown away by her appearance at the Met Gala. How beautiful can one pregnant woman be?! She clearly has the expression 'pregnant and glowing' down to a tee. We love the colour scheme of this front cover too - hot off a Prada or Jil Sander spring/summer 2011 catwalk, don't you think? 

The Glee girls cover Marie Claire May

Oh how we love multi-covers - it's not just Vogue that are going multi-cover crazy this month! It's Tuesday which means that although we had our Glee fix last night and are subsequently humming last night's songs on the way to the office, it does mean we have to wait a whole week until the next one. So you can imagine our excitement when we saw the pictures of not one, two, or even three, but four Glee-related Marie Claire covers for May. 

The covers feature three of the show's most powerful ladies; Lea Michele, Amber Riley and Dianna Agron, including one action packed cover where you get three girls for the price of one. 

We can't wait to see the feature that goes with this amazing cover!

Spring has well and truly sprung if this cover of Mad Men beauty January Jones is anything to go by. Miss Jones is looking prettier than all of the flowers in the background put together for the subscriber's edition of May's Marie Claire. We're anticipating the news-stand cover now…

Emma Watson for Elle Japan May 2011

If you already saw the Japan cover and  thought you'd seen the picture before, we're afraid to say that you're not psychic; it is in fact a reprint from Marie Claire's December 2010 issue. Still, it worked then and it still works now. Just think of it as being such a good shot it just had to be used twice!

Penelope Cruz on the cover of Marie Claire's Brazil April 2011

Yesterday we presented Alessandra Ambrosio covering the first ever edition of GQ Brazil, and now we are bringing you another gorgeous female on a Brazilian magazine. Penelope Cruz brings her Latin blood to the cover of Marie Claire Brazil…absolutely breathtaking. And the Louboutins are looking beautiful too. 

Dolce and Gabbana in Marie Claire

We are really excited to finally see this Dolce and Gabbana piece on someone other than a runway model. 

In a Spring/Summer collection which was predominantly filled with elegant, white lace (which, don't get us wrong, we totally loved), the few binary opposite pieces really stood out to us; the low-cut, black piece in the pictures in particular. 

Marie Claire do seem to be having a bit of a Dolce and Gabbana love-affair, as Sasha Beznosyuk is wearing a beautiful white blouse from the same collection for their Romania issue. 

This is the perfect piece for Meghan Collison to be wearing on the cover of Marie Claire Italy; so striking!
